You need to select a spline, or select faces (edges) in your editable grid. From these selections, the script automates and creates a new spline .. by automatically shifting the necessary vertices for (“ring” and closed forms), all variants of different shapes cannot be predicted – so I left the modifier not collapsed .. which can control the slope of the line to one or another side .. depending on the desired result.

At the same time, it is important to understand that for the implementation of even more complex forms, you can hang other modifiers (for example, FFD) from above to more accurately edit the form .. while the modifiers will only control the selected points (they are selected automatically when creating a new spline)
